Lighten to Rise

"Lighten to Rise" is an original watercolour painting from Yukiko's intuitive practice: a koi, rising.

Sometimes we surrender to the flow, and sometimes we push against it. Both are life, and both are shaping who we are becoming. There is surely no such thing as a meaningless choice, not one, out of all of them.

While painting this koi, it felt like letting go of something every time it rose higher: old beliefs, someone else's expectations, things that had already done their job. The more it lets go, the lighter its body becomes, and light begins to spill out from within.

Maybe real abundance isn't about gaining more, but about returning to who you really are. Every time we let go, we become a little more ourselves. This painting is probably that kind of story.

「Lighten to Rise」は、Yukikoの直感的な制作から生まれたオリジナル水彩画。上へ昇っていく、一匹の鯉。

流れに身を任せる時もあれば、あえて逆らう時もある。どちらも人生で、どちらも今の自分をつくっている。数ある選択の中に、意味のないものなんてきっと一つもなくて。
この鯉を描いている間、上へ昇るたびに何かを手放しているような感じがしました。
古い思い込み、誰かの期待、もう役目を終えたもの。手放すほどに体が軽くなって、内側から光がこぼれ出す。

本当の豊かさって、何かを増やすことじゃなくて、本来の自分に還っていくことなのかもしれませんね。手放すたびに、私は私になっていく。この絵はきっと、そういうストーリーなんだと思います。
